“Penitence: How the People of God Make a Return”
An Interfaith Reflection on the Notion of Penance

Every faith tradition embraces some form of penitence (i.e., purgation), mortification (i.e., self-denial), and repentance (i.e., turning from sin toward a deeper and renewed life with God). This series of four lectures will help us become more familiar with each of the major faith traditions through the lens of this spirituality and piety of penitence. Each speaker will present the spirituality and theology of penitence within their tradition, which will include references to sacred texts, public worship, holidays and feasts, and personal piety and practices.

All of the above talks begin at 6:30 pm in the Cathedral.

Compline (Night Prayer) will be chanted following each lecture at 7:45 pm.
