Feeding the Hungry

The Cathedral’s Social Action Committee works with the Bishop William Cosgrove Center to help serves our city neediest people. Special "Congrove Center" collection envelopes at the Cathedral provide $785 per month to assist with the free meals provided at the Cosgrove Center and to help them cover extraordinary expenses that might arise throught the year.

Cathedral volunteers help to serve meals at the Cosgrove on a regular basis. If you are interested in helping, please email socialjustice@saintjohncathedral.com.

Cathedral Volunteers also assist at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in their Sunday lunch program: “A Place at the Table”.  Although volunteers work every Sunday, some of our St. John Cathedral parishioners organize a group to provide a warm meal and friendly companionship to 200 people every 6th Sunday. This meal started 25 years ago and now offers not only a hot meal, but supportive services and a safe Sunday community for the hungry and homeless.   If you want to be among those who help, e-mail Betsy at ep@vintwine.com.

You can help to support these vital ministries by making a
Donation to the Bishop William M. Cosgrove Center:

Donation :

Advent Giving Tree - Each year the Social Concerns Committee organizes an Advent Giving Tree project at the Cathedral! The Advent Giving Tree provides clothing, gifts and household items to many less fortunate Cleveland families each year - last year we were able to provide over 500 items to families in need!
This event has been very successful in the past due to the generosity of members of the parish who donate both items, and their time, to help plan, sort and deliver the gifts. If you would like to volunteer for a specific task or have any questions, please email Sarah Stoner, sarahscribe@msn.com, or leave a voice message at 216-939-9756.
