What does membership mean? Our mission invites us to celebrate and share the love of God with the world. It is by the influence of the Holy Spirit that we feel called, we worship God in beauty and truth, our hearts are changed and we live together as beloved disciples of the Lord and we see and relate to the world like Jesus. This is, as our patron St. John the beloved disciple, a full and abundant life! The essence of this life is that “all of life is gift from God.” The purpose of our lives, then, is to offer all of life's giftedness back to God. We believe that ministry and life in the Catholic Church is the fullest, best and most effective way to be such a steward of God's gifts. The Word of God, the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist, the teaching of the Church, the ministry to one another and the poor - all of this is what makes us the children of God who is Love. At St. John Cathedral everyone has access to this saving love of God! |
